Storefront, the pop-up shop marketplace

Founded in 2012 and based in San Francisco, Storefront is a trusted community marketplace for makers, designers, and retail brands to discover and rent amazing brick and mortar retail space. Whether a booth at a craft fair for a day, a rack in a local boutique for a week, or a mall space for a month, Storefront connects people to unique retail real estate at any price point. And with world-class customer service and a growing community of passionate users, Storefront is the easiest way for people to monetize their extra space and showcase it to an audience of thousands.

When I joined the team, Storefront was fresh out of the Tech Stars accelerator and looking to hire their first designer. The 6 of us worked tirelessly from a coworking space in San Francisco while supporting our first few vendor clients. I bridged the gap between Storefront's seed and A round, completing a full website update, creating lots of marketing material and leave-behinds for space on the platform, and designing the internal tools for renters and brokers to communicate.

Retail Space

Storefront cast a wide net when it came to defining short-term retail space. With everything from fully vacant commercial storefronts in malls to temporary booths at craft fairs, we had to help our renters find the right place to make their product offering sing. Graphics describing possible space types helped provide a touch point for potential renters, giving context to what otherwise was a large product offering.

We created postcard-sized information cards for passerby's to grab from spaces you could actually rent on our platform. The cards were tailored to the kind of space available - Small boutique owners looking for designers to fill shelfspace, brokers seeking commercial tenants, and merchants looking for temporary space

Our business cards were also designed as an opportunity to showcase our amazing retail space listings.

E-Book

The Storefront team wrote and designed a 30+ page eBook downloaded over 1000 times in the first couple months to help our users plan their pop-up shop experiences.

MODERN and ACCESSIBLE

Our listings panels only displayed the information necessary to allow a potential renter to narrow their search for space, with photography being the priority.
